I’m honoured to announce that ABOVE is a nominee for the 2013 Aurora Award for Best YA Novel, alongside work from Kelley Armstrong, Charles de Lint, Cory Doctorow, Neil Godbout, and Mitchell Plested.
–and that “Hold Fast”, which appeared in Strange Horizons last June, is nominated as well in the Best Poem/Song category, alongside work from Carolyn Clink, David Clink, Sandra Kasturi, and Helen Marshall.

Norton.
I am so bewilderingly surprised to say this, but:
Above is a nominee for the Andre Norton Award for Young Adult Science Fiction and Fantasy. Also known as the YA wing of the Nebula Awards.
Official announcement here, rife with jaw-droppingly good company: congrats to everyone on the ballot!
(I continue stunned. The Nebulas. What a world. )

Signed books, and where to find them
While I’ve been tweeting where to find signed copies of Above as I nose in and out of bookstores, it’s occurred to me that having a consistent list might be helpful to people who like their books signed by the author! So in that spirit, the signed books post. This list will grow the more I travel about, and should generally be current!
If you’ve been to a location below and found they’re out of signed copies, please let me know — I’ll take it off the list!

KGB Reading Series, July
Other places I’m going to be!
In a few weeks — on July 18th — I’ll be reading at the KGB Fantastic Fiction reading series in New York, alongside Ysabeau S. Wilce.
To say I’m excited about this would kind of be an understatement.
It is in a bar, so I’m not sure that this is an event underage readers will be able to attend, but if you’re in the Manhattan area, please do come on out!

Upcoming events, April and May
A few places Above and I are going to be in the next six weeks!
The Ad Astra 2012 speculative fiction convention is coming up on the weekend of April 13-15, with Author Guest of Honour Lesley Livingston and a whole pile of Ontario authors, editors, illustrators, costumers, fans, and Readers Like You. I’ll be there the whole weekend and participating on various panels, but notably, there’s a mini-launch for Above on Saturday, April 14 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm in Room 1402.
There will be cupcakes. And very nice tea.
–
On Saturday, May 26, from 2:00 pm to 4:00pm, I’ll be joining the most fabulous and excellent Megan Crewe and R.J. Anderson to read, sign, chatter, and generally spend some quality time at Chapters Brampton. Three authors for the price of one (which is, well, free)!
If you’re local to either, hope to see you there!
